This offseason, the Chicago Bears added great talent to their wide receiver room. Chicago signed veteran Olamide Zaccheaus and drafted Luther Burden III, while also adding undrafted free agent Jahdae Walker, who had a great preseason and made the team.
As a result of these additions, pressure was put on former fourth-round pick Tyler Scott to perform in training camp and the preseason. Unfortunately, Scott was unable to rise to the occasion, resulting in his being cut.
That said, the 23-year-old speedster is immensely talented, so it was only a matter of time before he landed with another team. On Thursday morning, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that Scott is expected to sign with the Indianapolis Colts' practice squad, which is certainly an interesting choice for his career.

Former Bears WR Tyler Scott Signs with Colts Practice Squad
Scott's time in Chicago didn't go as most Bears fans had hoped it would. When the Akron, OH native was drafted, Bears fans had aspirations of him becoming a field-stretching threat, with his blistering speed.
Unfortunately, he was unable to consistently make catches, recording 18 receptions on 33 targets for 173 yards in two seasons. Moreover, Scott was basically benched by the coaching staff in 2024. Although he suited up for 11 games, he only played 3% of the offensive snaps and 13% of the snaps on special teams.
Be that as it may, Scott isn't going into a much better situation in Indianapolis. Not only is the Colts' wide receiver room crowded, which is why he signed to the practice squad, but their quarterback situation is bad. Nevertheless, WRs Josh Downs and Ashton Dulin are currently banged up, which could give the ex-Bears wideout a chance to play in September.
Entering the preseason, Daniel Jones and Anthony Richardson were in a battle to see who would earn the starting quarterback job. The Colts' front office was hoping Richardson would prove why he was the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft. Instead, Jones played better and earned the starting job.
The 28-year-old is also a former first-round pick who struggled with the New York Giants. Despite Indianapolis having more talent around Jones, his biggest issue is turnovers. Therefore, the outlook for the Colts' offense in 2025 doesn't look great.
Even so, there is one positive for Scott joining the Colts' practice squad. He gets to reunite with former Bears running back Khalil Herbert, who is also on the Bears' practice squad.
Though both players' time in Chicago didn't end how anyone wanted it to, Bears fans will be rooting for the success of both players.
