Rome Odunze’s Latest Comments Are Step in the Right Direction For His Week 2 Return
The Chicago Bears started off the 2024 season with a win, topping the Tennessee Titans 24-17 at Soldier Field. But as we know, you must turn the page quickly in the NFL and focus on the next matchup.
That's what the Bears are doing as they travel to play the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football.
The offense had a lackluster performance in the win, only compiling 148 total yards. They are looking to bounce back against the Texans but Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze are both dealing with some injuries.
Allen (heel) and Odunze (knee) missed practices this week but the Washington product seems to be trending in the right direction.
Bears News: Rome Odunze Is Gaining Confidence Ahead of SNF
Odunze, who suffered a sprained MCL in Week 1, was speaking to reporters on Friday is building more confidence in his knee.
"As I started to move my leg, bend my leg a little bit, you start to get that confidence. I’ll continue to build that so I can hopefully play Sunday."

Head coach Matt Eberflus revealed that Chicago will "take it all the way up to the game" to see if both Allen and Odunze play. The 22-year-old is considered week-to-week but getting him out there would give the offense a much-needed boost.
In his debut, Odunze had one reception (four targets) for 11 yards. He's still getting acclimated to the NFL game but with Allen's status also up in the air, having Odunze out there would give Chicago more playmakers.
Especially since the Bears are 6.5-point underdogs according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
