The Caleb Williams era in Chicago is about to officially begin. While the hype is real, Bears fans have been through through two other first-round quarterbacks in the past seven seasons. Mitchell Trubisky, who the Bears drafted with the second overall pick in the 2017 draft, and Justin Fields, who the Bears drafted 11th overall in 2021.

Both Trubisky (5-11) and Fields (3-12) had rough first seasons as starters. Ultimately, neither player ended up panning out for the Bears. For Williams, though, the hope is that he is set up to succeed as a rookie with all the talent around him.

Not only is the Bears' offense loaded, but they also face one of the easiest schedules in the league this season. According to Sharp Analytics, Chicago has the fifth-easiest schedule in 2024.

The Bears face many of their weaker opponents earlier in the season. With that in mind, let's predict the Bears' win/loss record in the month of September.

Week 1 Tennessee Titans @ Chicago Bears

Sunday, September 8

The Bears and Titans are in pretty similar spots entering Week 1. Both teams have young quarterbacks they are trying to build around. For the Titans, it's Will Levis, who played in nine games as a rookie last season and looked fine. The Titans added a plethora of weapons on the offense for Levis in the offense.

As mentioned above, Williams walked into a situation where he was set up to succeed. He has weapons like wide receivers D.J. Moore and Kennan Allen. As well as a talented running back in D'andre Swift.

The key differences between the two teams lie in their head coaches and their defensive situations. The Titans have a first-year head coach, Brian Callahan, while the Bears are led by third-year head coach Matt Eberflus. Although Eberflus hasn't yet found significant success, his experience in game situations is valuable.

Another major distinction is in the defense. The Bears' defense has been building chemistry over the past two seasons, which contributed to their strong finish and turnover streak at the end of last season.

Considering all these factors, the Bears should be able to come on top against the Titans.
