Just when it seemed Chicago Bears fans couldn't find another reason to put their arms around Caleb Williams the star quarterback offered a glimpse at the future. Hearing Williams talk about his outlook on salary and what the focus is will have Bears fans unquestionably thrilled. Williams recently spoke about his career goals via the Chicago Sun-Times and made it clear that money wasn't a motivating factor. Williams wants to spend his entire career with Chicago and consistently be a team capable of competing for a championship.

It is extremely rare to see a quarterback openly say he doesn't care about money. This isn't to indicate that the Bears won't pay Williams market value, but making it clear negotiations should be a bit easier. The collective goal of keeping a championship window open and not focusing on having a top-dollar contract hands the Bears a chance to keep its pieces in place.

Fans looking for a comparison could look back to Tom Brady's days with the New England Patriots. the star quarterback consistently left money on the table in an effort to give the taem the best possible chance to chase greatness. It is telling that Williams has only one playoff win under his belt and is already thinking with this mindset.

Caleb Williams making it clear future expectations aren't set on high salary but results

Bears fans understand just how special the duo of Williams and head coach Ben Johnson could prove to be. The duo has a chance not to just take the Bears to a Super Bowl, but make the franchise a consistent NFC contender for the next decade. One of the few issues that could get in the way of this is having to pay your quarterback a record-setting deal that prevents the Bears from keeping other important roster pieces.

Williams is yet to sign an extension and what exactly that is going to look like remains up for debate. However, this is a great indication that the Bears could find a surprise bargain with the focus of their quarterback being on keeping the window of contention open.

Just when it seemed impossible for the Bears to find another reason to be excited, Williams is offering a look at just how bright the future could be. If the signal caller reaches the levels expected and is willing to take a team-friendly deal it is impossible to believe the Super Bowl window won't be open for years to come.
