There is not a lot positive to take away from the Chicago Bears 9-3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. If you're not focused on the defense of Dennis Allen, it is incredibly difficult to find anything to be happy about. The future of Caleb Williams is clearly the focus of the organization and fanbase as they attempt to reset after a disheartening loss. It is rare to see a team riding so high after their season debut brought this low.
Still, the Bears had their chances in this game and were consistently in scoring range late and simply unable to finish. The defining play was obviously Williams scrambling and appearing to be set for a touchdown run before suffering the injury that has the fanbase so incredibly worried for the future of the organization.

As Devine highlighted there was a comedy of errors and frustrations that resulted in Chicago being unable to finish this game. It was a rare series of failures for an offense that fans have grown used to watching deliver under head coach and star play caller Ben Johnson. No matter how you look at Sunday's failure or what the starting situation is like at quarterback moving forward this frustrating loss will prove to be an outlier in every way.
The Bears have a wealth of playmakers and are more than capable of being a consistent offense with Tyson Bagent or Case Keenum in the starting lineup. The level of failure that Chicago reached in scoring situations against Minnesota isn't likely to be repeated.
Looking at the bad weather, penalties, and poor execution there simply no reason to believe this is a sign of things to come. Chicago's coaching staff and talent at the skill positions remains elite with Sunday's failure being a clear outlier.

Chicago has an incredibly talented backfield with D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai, add in the talent at tight end and speed at receiver, offensive expectations should remain high. No matter what the situation with Williams proves to be the Bears are going to be a far better offense than the product they put on the field on Sunday.
It will be interesting to watch how the coaching staff responds as there were hints all week ahead of the matchup with Minnesota they were attempting to avoid a fall off in intensity. Chicago players should be warned for practice and the week ahead as they now prepare for the Philadelphia Eagles.
A talented defense, but one that isn't going to repeat what Brian Flores watched the Minnesota defense accomplish on Sunday. It will prove to be the outlier in every way in a Chicago season that remains very much alive.
