Bears Star Eviscerates Matt Eberflus on Social Media After Firing
The Chicago Bears are in the midst of a massive slump, losers of six straight games. They are 4-8 on the season and the latest loss on Thanksgiving Day to the Detroit Lions was the final nail in the coffin for Matt Eberflus.
On Friday, Eberflus was fired after two and a half seasons with the Bears. Earlier in the day, the 54-year-old was confident that he would be coaching in Week 14 but that quickly changed. Safety Jaquan Brisker took a shot at Eberflus on social media when that report came out. He posted a single laughing emoji but after the report of Eberflus' firing, Brisker went back on X. And this time, he took another jab at his now former coach.
Shortly after the announcement, Brisker tweeted, "God don't make mistakes."
Brisker isn't the only player who is feeling this way in the locker room. Keenan Allen also called out the coaches following the heartbreaking loss to the Lions. With each loss, the locker room continued to shift away from Eberflus.
The Bears have way too much talent on the team to be producing at this level. It was time for a change, and Chicago pulled the pull. This was the first time in team history that they fired a coach mid-season. While this is tough for Eberflus, he couldn't get the job done.
Chicago needed to go in a different direction, and Thomas Brown will be the interim coach. The feeling in the locker room is certainly in a positive direction and Brisker's tweet showcases that.
