Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus met with the media on Friday morning after the Bears’ disastrous Thanksgiving loss to the Detroit Lions.

Bears fans are not pleased with Eberflus after he put on a clinic of coaching malpractice on the team’s final offensive drive. With one timeout left in the game, the Chicago head coach did not call a timeout after seeing rookie QB Caleb Williams get sacked and the team not showing a sense of urgency.

After that display of incompetence from Eberflus, many Bears fans want him gone. The Bears coach addressed his job security on Friday, telling reporters he’s confident he’ll be working and coaching the San Francisco game.

As you can imagine, Chicago fans weren’t enthusiastic about this comment and even a Bears player weighed in on social media.

Bears starting safety Jaquan Brisker posted a laughing emoji on Twitter/X almost immediately after Eberflus showed up to his day-after-game press conference.

After the game, Bears players did not have many good things to say about what happened, including veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen. Allen said, “I feel like we did enough as players to win the game.”

It’s tough to speculate, but it seems like Eberflus has lost the locker room, and after what happened on Thanksgiving, it’s tough to blame them.

The Bears played much better in the second half, and the coach let them down at the most important moment. Eberflus had one job on the final offensive drive, which he failed to execute.
