The Chicago Bears' 2026 offseason could use one final boost when it comes to the team's lack of pass-rushing depth. After Montez Sweat, there isn't one edge rushing option that doesn't come with a fair share of question marks. This explains why FOX's Ben Arthur predicted that current free agent Cameron Jordan would end up signing with Chicago. It makes a great deal of sense for both sides and provides a bit of veteran leadership for a young position group.

For Jordan, it is going to be an adjustment, no matter where the defender lands, with the rest of his career being spent with the New Orleans Saints. However, it seems the franchise has turned the page, and Jordan is open to finding a new landing spot. The Bears can offer a nice road to playing time as well as a clear chance to compete for a Super Bowl.

The former Saints defender is coming off a great 2025 season, offering 10.5 sacks and two forced fumbles while playing for a below-average New Orleans team. It is fun to consider the impact that Jordan might have signing to play under Dennis Allen and giving Chicago an incredible boost at the biggest remaining defensive position of concern.

Bears Predicted to Sign Top Remaining Free Agent Edge Rusher Cameron Jordan

It isn't out of the question that this prediction becomes reality, as Chicago should remain active in free agency leading into training camp and the preseason. Jordan is by far the most productive edge rushing option left in free agency. While Von Miller remains an option as well, the veteran has shown his age a bit more than Jordan and doesn't appear to have as much upside at this late stage of his career.

No question, if the Bears want to turn to free agency for pass-rushing answers, Jordan is the best possible signing. Even if the franchise isn't going to get the repeat performance from last season, there is incredible value in the addition. Jordan is a well-respected veteran who can help set the tone and provide leadership and insight for not only the position group but the defense as a whole.

This explains why it would be a worthwhile signing, no matter the results that Jordan offered. Chicago needs pass-rushing help, and Jordan is the best option left on the market to fill this void. Still, even if the production didn't live up to expectations, you're bringing in an asset. This makes it clear that the move is one the front office should be actively exploring over the next weeks of the offseason.
