The Chicago Bears will enter the 2026 NFL season as the defending NFC North champions. More than that, for the first time in franchise history, they might actually have the best quarterback in the entire division.

Of course, the divisional race will be as brutal as it always is, and they can't afford to look down on any of their rivals. That said, they certainly have it better than the Green Bay Packers, who may not have Micah Parsons and Josh Jacobs on the field to start the season.

That's why, watching the Packers' brutal schedule, Bears fans can only laugh at Seth Walder's latest wild prediction. In a recent ESPN article, he predicted that Packers starJordan Love would be an MVP candidate.

Jordan Love's MVP prediction is comedy gold for Bears fans

"Love quietly ranked third in QBR (72.7) last season behind only Maye and Brock Purdy. In order for him to win MVP, the Packers would have to become more pass-heavy. But it would probably be a good move for Green Bay to do exactly that, so Love has a chance," wrote Walder.

Love's MVP case will likely hit the same hurdle it's hit every year— his own coach. Matt LaFleur splits his offense nearly 50/50, committing to the running game even though the interior offensive line can't seem to block.

Even when he does give Love some sort of leash to move in the pocket, the uber-conservative game plan holds him back. Love is a gunslinger, but LaFleur seems too afraid to let him cook, given his decision-making issues and tendency to put the ball in harm's way.

Moreover, the Packers' once-stacked receiver corps isn't as deep as it was. Romeo Doubs, their most reliable pass catcher, left to sign with the New England Patriots, and they traded Dontayvion Wicks to the Philadelphia Eagles.

As such, they're essentially hoping that star TE Tucker Kraft comes back strong from a season-ending injury, that the injury-prone Christian Watson can -- finally -- stay healthy, and that Matthew Golden takes a big leap after struggling mightily as a rookie. That's far from an ideal setting for an MVP-hopeful quarterback.

Instead, the national media should be talking about Caleb Williams 3.0. He'll have another full offseason with Ben Johnson to work on his accuracy, and his rapport with his pass catchers is already more than evident.

The Bears will unleash Luther Burden III and Colston Loveland right out of the gate after building them up slowly as rookies, and that should be a scary thought for the rest of the league. For too long, the Packers held bragging rights in the North, but it's time the tables turn once and for all.
