This is the point of the offseason where Chicago Bears fans are starving for as many updates, videos and news blurbs as they can get.

The bulk of the offseason news, signings and transactions are over with. Now, it’s time to get down to business. With OTAs going on and the team preparing for training camp in less than two months, getting a good first look at the team is a favorite pastime for any fan.

That got us thinking. What are the strongest positions on this Bears roster as the summer months get into a full-go?

We try and rank the top five, starting with QB1, himself.

Strongest positions on the Chicago Bears roster: No. 5, Quarterback

It sounds pretty crazy putting quarterback on a list like this, but the Bears’ quarterback position is as solidified as it’s been since the days of Jay Cutler. Going into Year 3, Justin Fields is primed for an even bigger, fuller breakout than we witnessed in 2022.

Fields now has an improved offensive line, plenty of weapons and is in his second year of the Luke Getsy offense. His dual threat skill set is one of the most fiercely difficult to defend in the league, and defenses know it. The way he can take off on a moment’s notice and be gone before the blink of an eye certainly presents its challenges.

Behind Fields, the Bears have veteran P.J. Walker who came over from the Panthers and gives Chicago another big arm with the potential to use his legs, as well. If Chicago chooses to keep three quarterbacks, they will likely have veteran Nathan Peterman hold that spot, who would do just fine in that role.
