Andreas Athanasiou might land the Chicago Blackhawks something decent.

The Blackhawks have a few other depth pieces at forward that they can trade as well. Nobody is going to land Chicago what Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, or Max Domi are going to but Andreas Athanasiou is a really nice player that most contenders would consider acquiring for their run.

There are a lot of teams out there that are built on speed and Athanasiou is one of the fastest players in the NHL. He can kill penalties, score a little bit, and make himself noticeable in multiple different ways throughout a hockey game.

If the Hawks get any kind of offer for him, they should take it. If he gets multiple teams calling on him, the Hawks should just take the best deal. There is no reason to keep this player for the rest of the season knowing he is only on a one-year deal. He’ll be much better off helping a good team in their bottom six.

Athanasiou has 11 goals and 8 assists for 19 points in 15 games. That is with an atrociously bad Blackhawks team that doesn’t score a whole lot. If he changes teams, he might even see that decent goal total go up just a tad. That scoring touch in addition to his team can help a lot of people.
