Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Jake McCabe should get traded away.

The Chicago Blackhawks have plenty of young defensemen that they are hoping to start inserting into the lineup over the next couple of years. In order to do that, they are going to have to make some room for them by moving on from other ones along the way.

Someone that makes sense to move on from is Jake McCabe. He is a solid defensive defenseman but the Blackhawks weren’t able to be a winning team with him in the organization. Now, it is time for them to send him off to a team that might be able to do that. There will be plenty of options.

McCabe doesn’t have much of an offensive touch (as mentioned when calling him a defensive defenseman) but he isn’t a joke in the offensive zone either. He has two goals and 14 assists which isn’t bad for a player in his role on a very bad team.

Plus/minus is a terrible hockey stat for a lot of reasons but seeing him be a plus player on this team with these players around him is actually pretty impressive. The Hawks are one of the worst defensive teams in the league but it is hardly McCabe’s fault. His next team will love him too.
