It would be wise for the Chicago Blackhawks to move on from Connor Murphy.

Just like the forward positions, the Blackhawks have a few other defensemen outside of Jake McCabe to trade away. One that may or may not go is Connor Murphy. Obviously, trading him would change this team even more than we thought they’d be changed.

Murphy has been the captain of the defense for a few years now and has done a great job. Like all of the players on this list, he is a younger player that just came to the team at a time when they weren’t able to take advantage of his skills.

The teams that might miss on the big boys might come crawling back to the Hawks for defensemen like Murphy (and McCabe). He provides a lot of stability on the blue line and there are plenty of potential playoff teams that are looking for someone like that. He should absolutely be moved for as much as the Hawks can get.

As of right now, we don’t know for sure who is going to be traded but we do know a fire sale is coming. The Blackhawks want the best chance of landing Connor Bedard and that can be helped along by trading away all of these players and getting rid of all the rest of the expiring contracts in addition to them. There is no doubt that this deadline is going to be wild for the Hawks.
