Chicago Bears: Five bold predictions for 2020 season
They add a running back
It doesn’t matter if it is a trade or signing but the Bears should be in the market to add another running back to the group. They have David Montgomery in place but he is already dealing with an injury and we haven’t even watched one snap of live football yet. They also have Tarik Cohen who is best used as a special gadget to the offense. Cordarrelle Patterson also fits the mold of one of those gadget guys out of the backfield as well.
None of those guys are players that you go into the season expecting a locked-in 1000 yards from. David Montgomery is the closest to being that guy and he is still a question mark. It would be awesome if he ends up being that guy but for now, we can’t be sure. For that reason, they need to add someone else to the mix.
We heard rumors about Leonard Fournette earlier after the Jacksonville Jaguars released him. It is weird that they let him go but they seem to be all in on getting the first overall pick to draft Trevor Lawrence. He ended up signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers so he isn’t an option anymore. Alvin Kamara was in trade rumors after not reporting to camp based on contract issues but that seems to be working itself out now. The Bears might need to get creative but they definitely need some help and they would be smart to go out there and get it.
