Eddie Jackson will lead the league in interceptions

Eddie Jackson is one of the most talented defensive backs in the NFL. The Bears are lucky to have him as they have seen what he can do when he is healthy. When he gets defensive support in front of and next to him he is capable of being a big-time Pro-Bowl level player. That is why he is going to lead the National Football League in interceptions for 2020.

In 2019, it was a down year for a lot of the Chicago Bears defense. The turnover rate was way down but they were still elite at keeping the opposition from scoring. A lot of it could have had to do with their usage because the offense wasn’t on the field but there is no doubt that they didn’t have the spark that they had in 2018.

In 2018, Jackson’s six interceptions were one off the league lead. His teammate, Kyle Fuller was one of the three players tied for first with seven. This year, Jackson is going to be right in that ballpark and have more than any other player. Injuries can obviously play a big part in all of this and his health is a key factor.

The reason he is capable of doing it this year is the situation. Akiem Hicks, Khalil Mack, and Robert Quinn are going to create all sorts of pressure on the opposing quarterbacks and the defensive backs should be able to take advantage. If Jackson is able to get those numbers up again this year, it will be a huge year for the Bears defense as a whole.
