Chicago Bears 2020 NFL Mock Draft: A Christmas List
By Ryan Heckman
Of course, one of the most pressing needs the Bears currently have is at the tight end position. That spot becomes much clearer with the no. 50 overall pick, tight end Brycen Hopkins out of Purdue.

Don’t be fooled. This guy is a wide receiver in a tight end’s body. At 6-foot-5, weighing 245 pounds, Hopkins can run every route in the book. He possesses great speed — fast enough to break away if given space.
Each year at Purdue, Hopkins’ production increased. In his senior season, Hopkins finished with 61 receptions for 830 yards and seven touchdowns.
The Bears aren’t sure what’s going to happen with Trey Burton, or if he’ll ever be “right” again. Frankly, I can speak on behalf of the fans when I say we are all sick of waiting around.
Speaking of waiting around, Adam Shaheen should finally get the boot. That’s one pick which did not pan out, nor will it ever. It’s time for the Bears to solidify the starting tight end position with Hopkins, while seeing a guy like Jesper Horsted and maybe even J.P. Holtz back in the fold in 2020.
Other names on the list at pick no. 50:
Jake Fromm, QB, Georgia
Trey Adams, OL, Washington
Brandon Jones, S, Texas
Jared Pinkney, TE, Vanderbilt
