2. A loaded 2020 NFL Draft Class and two 2nd Round picks

If you’re like me, when the Bears are bad, you get involved a bit more in college football. It takes your mind off the disappointment, in a way, and gives you a little hope for the future. This season is no different, and the college prospects are as talented as ever. The 2020 NFL Draft is absolutely loaded with studs.

At first glance, you might be upset because the Bears don’t own a first round pick (see: Khalil Mack trade). Yet, they do own a pair of picks in the second round (again, thanks to the Mack trade).

More from Da Windy City

One of the hot topics is going to be whether or not the Bears should draft another quarterback to either push or replace Mitchell Trubisky. If you ask me, I say draft one. In fact, if the Bears can package both second-round picks to move up into the first round and get “their guy,” I’m all for it.

The quarterback class is incredible this year. We will likely see LSU’s Joe Burrow be the no. 1 quarterback taken, and possible the no. 1 player off the board overall. The Bears don’t have a shot at him, although it would be nice.

Aside from Burrow, you could potentially see guys like Oregon’s Justin Herbert, Washington’s Jacob Eason and Oklahoma’s Jalen Hurts all go in the first round as well. Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa might just stay in Round 1, too, even after suffering a season-ending injury and undergoing surgery on his leg.

Where it gets interesting, though, is with a guy like Jake Fromm out of Georgia. You might see him fall to the second round, where it would make sense for the Bears to snag him. There are also a few other names who could be taken lower, like Jordan Love out of Utah State, Jamie Newman out of Wake Forest or even Anthony Gordon out of Washington State.

There are tons of quarterbacks worth looking at in this year’s draft, but the Bears could strike gold either in the second round or by moving up. Even without a first-rounder, Chicago is in a good spot to find its next quarterback.
