Indiana Pacers

Victor Oladipo and Myles Turner

I had a hard time choosing another guy to pair with Victor Oladipo, because I could have easily tossed in newly-signed point guard Malcolm Brogdon. Since Brogdon has yet to play in a Pacers uniform and Myles Turner has become a staple for them, it has to be the latter.

Unlike the Bulls, Indiana actually boasted an All Star last year in Oladipo. While his season was shortened due to injury, he still earned those honors and deserved every bit of spotlight aimed at him.

In fact, Oladipo has now made the All Star Game in two straight seasons after finally breaking out with the Pacers. All it took was a change of scenery — well, two. But, after heading from the Orlando Magic and Oklahoma City Thunder to Indiana, Oladipo burst onto the scene.

Turner, on the other hand, is an often-overlooked big man but is definitely no slouch. In fact, I think it’s safe to say that if Wendell Carter Jr. turned out to be a lot like Turner, Bulls fans would be happy.

Last season, Turner put up a respectable 13.3 points and 7.2 boards while shooting over 48 percent overall — including over 38 percent from long distance. Here is the kicker, though: Turner posted 2.7 blocks per game.

Having a center who can score from anywhere, rebound and defend is the ultimate luxury in today’s league, and Turner fits that bill perfectly.
