Chicago Bears: 10 players facing important training camp
By Ryan Heckman
Roy Robertson-Harris
To be quite frank, if your name isn’t either Akiem Hicks or Bilal Nichols and you play defensive end for the Chicago Bears, this is a big training camp for you. But, for Roy Robertson-Harris who has improved year over year, it isn’t as dire a situation compared to Jonathan Bullard.
You could easily argue this summer being more important to Bullard, and it’s definitely true in my eyes. But, for Robertson-Harris, this camp is where he will prove he is every bit worthy of the Bears’ investment in him.
Finally, he put it all on display last year and made it known he belongs in this rotation. But, I wonder if he isn’t satisfied with that. Personally, seeing a fifth-round pick like Nichols overtake him on the depth chart must have stung a bit.
That’s why I think we’ll see a different kind of fire out of him during this year’s camp. I know it’s already a foregone conclusion that Bullard’s days in Chicago are severely numbered. I’m eager to see the competition play out between Nichols and Robertson-Harris, though. These are two very talented guys who have done everything they can to earn their spot on this roster.
