Chicago Bears: 10 players facing important training camp
By Ryan Heckman
Javon Wims
How have we gone from watching Cameron Meredith become the primary target in an offense to now, suddenly, a plethora of competition? These Bears have come a long way in a very, very short amount of time.

Though he was a seventh-round pick last year, Javon Wims presents a lot to like at the receiver position. His size is obviously the thing that jumps out. But, his ability to make the tough grabs is unavoidably exciting to watch.
This year, the Bears are looking at a corps of Allen Robinson, Anthony Miller, Taylor Gabriel, Riley Ridley, Cordarrelle Patterson and Wims — at least, that’s the way I see it shaking out. I don’t believe Marvin Hall makes the roster, and neither will Emanuel Hall.
Wims should make it as the very last guy, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a shot at earning some playing time. Wims certainly has what it takes to be featured in specific packages.
I’m eager to see him give it everything he’s got this summer, because the position is absolutely loaded with young talent. The Bears are deep, but Wims absolutely has what it takes to earn the respect and cement his spot.
