Chicago Bears 2019 NFL Draft: Pre-Combine wish list
By Ryan Heckman
Running Back Devin Singletary, Florida Atlantic
Back to the running back position, and there may not be a more exciting back in college football, with a higher ceiling than Devin Singletary out of Florida Atlantic. Just the numbers alone will blow you away, but coming from a smaller program like FAU, that’s what you have to do.

Over three seasons, Singletary racked up a total of 4,684 yards from scrimmage and 67 touchdowns. He carried the ball 714 times over those three seasons and averaged an even 6.0 yards per carry during that span.
In 2017, Singletary saw his most impressive season at FAU, racking up 33 total touchdowns — 32 of those coming on the ground.
Singletary stands at just 5-foot-9, but weighs around 200 pounds. You might not believe it, but he’s pretty phenomenal in the open field. Don’t think that just because he is a tough runner, he can’t break the big ones — he can.
The biggest thing a lot of scouts want to see him improve is his blocking ability. When asked to pass block, Singletary often gets lost or isn’t aware enough of how to keep them at bay. Singletary can run the football, that’s for sure. It’s some of the little things he’d need to show in order to become as successful as possible as a pro. Right now, Singletary projects to be taken around the third round, but he continues to rise.
