Chicago Bulls should heavily pursue Clint Capela

Capela impacts a young team right away
Last season, Capela took an enormous step forward. In this year’s playoffs, he was by far and away the best rim-protecting defender on the court. Just take a look at this mini compilation below and understand how he impacts a game — specifically, one half of basketball — defensively.
In Capela, you’re looking at one of the few true centers in the game today. Over his four-year career, Capela has yet to attempt a 3-point shot. I highly doubt that comes anytime soon. He is the definition of the center position and almost has an old school feel to him.
If you need to know one thing about Capela, it’s this: The man is a defensive rockstar. I remember watching guys like Ben Wallace and Dwight Howard in their prime and Capela most definitely has that type of potential. He might already be close to the conversation.
In a league where you have so many players being able to play multiple positions, Capela is not one of them. However, he has shown the ability to not only defend in the paint, but step out and guard the perimeter at times. Is he someone you want out there consistently? No, he’s best suited in the paint — guys should be afraid to drive on him. But, he’s versatile enough defensively to be able and do whatever asked of him.
