The Chicago Bulls have enough money to pursue talent via free agency. Why should they throw a bunch of it at a certain big man out West?

This summer, the Chicago Bulls are going to be in a much different position than a team like the Houston Rockets. The Rockets, for one, are coming off a season where they were just a game away from the NBA Finals. The Bulls, meanwhile, are amidst a rebuild.

One of the players the Rockets will likely try and bring back is their young centerpiece in the paint, Clint Capela.

The Rockets have a huge advantage when it comes to Capela, as they hold bird rights to not only him, but both Chris Paul and Trevor Ariza. So, in an effort to go after the Golden State Warriors and get themselves a championship, will they choose to go above and beyond the cap, pay some luxury tax and re-sign Capela?

It could happen, but remember, the NBA is still a business. Don’t count out the possibility of Capela receiving a huge offer from another team and bowing out due to the steep price. One of those teams could be the Bulls. Let me rephrase that: One of those teams should be the Bulls.

So, why should the Bulls be prepared to throw all the money at Capela this summer? Good question. I’ve got three good reasons.
