Chicago Bears: Latest on Jordan Howard trade rumors, Instagram situation

What a whirlwind of rumors it has been regarding the Chicago Bears and Jordan Howard. What’s the latest?

Wednesday, Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard scared everyone a bit when we realized he had taken down all Bears-related photos on his Instagram account. Immediately, fans everywhere, including us at Da Windy City, were a little on edge.

Later in the day, Bears safety Eddie Jackson posted an interesting photo and caption on his own Instagram account, adding fuel to the flame.

Scroll through the comments on that particular post and you’ll see fans about to have an aneurism.

Later Wednesday night, after all insanity had fully broken loose among fans, finally we got some clarity from one of the most reliable NFL sources in the business, NFL Network’s own Ian Rapoport.

This isn’t the first time RapSheet has had to calm Bears fans down over the course of this offseason. In fact, about one month ago, there was a rumor spread by John Mullin of NBC Chicago that the Bears were in talks with the Miami Dolphins regarding Howard and Jarvis Landry.

Of course, Landry wound up going to the Cleveland Browns and the rest is history. Howard is still a Bear to this day.

It is also worth noting a few more details in this story. First, Howard still has Bears-related photos on his Twitter account. Second, Howard not only deleted his Bears photos on Instagram, but all college and high school football photos as well.

That is somewhat reassuring, but still odd. No one knows his reasoning, and quite frankly, Howard doesn’t owe us any explanation. We may all freak out over something like this, because hey, we’re dedicated and passionate fans who love this football player. But, in the end, it’s his personal life, his personal social media account and he can do whatever he would like with it.
