Mitchell Trubisky, Quarterback

Yes, another quarterback to keep an eye on. It’s the most important position on the field, and also the one you most likely have your eyes fixed on. Trubisky will most likely enter in the second quarter or the third quarter, at the latest.

Trubisky flashed the copious amount of talent that he has against the Broncos in the first week of the preseason. He completed 18 of 25 passes for 166 yards and one touchdown. The most important part is that he didn’t turn the ball over.

It will be interesting to see how offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains uses Trubisky against the Cardinals. Against the Broncos, Trubisky ran a number of play-action bootlegs. He threw the ball extremely well on the run, and he had the Broncos biting on the play fakes all night.

I’m sure the Cardinals will do a little game-planning, so will they be expecting those bootlegs? Will the Chicago Bears be able to counter with different plays of their own to keep the Cardinals’ defense on-edge? I would like to see Trubisky throw from within the pocket a little more, as well as taking a few deep shots to receivers.

My eyes will be glued to the television when he comes in the game, as I’m sure yours will be too. Let’s hope he plays as well as last week, and continues to fuel the flames of a quarterback controversy. The competition will bring out the best of Trubisky and Glennon, which will only help the Chicago Bears in the long-run.
