Chicago Bulls News: Dwyane Wade has exit meeting
The Chicago Bulls have officially had their exit meeting with veteran guard Dwyane Wade.
The Chicago Bulls’ front office and veteran guard Dwyane Wade had their season-ending player exit meeting on Saturday.
K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune was the first to report on the meeting between Wade and the Bulls’ upper management. Wade has until June 27 to make a decision on his player option for the 2017-2018 NBA season but the expectation is that he will be returning to the Bulls’ organization:
"The meeting, which was described as positive and came on the heels of a similar meeting with Butler earlier last week, covered a wide variety of topics, including the possibilities for next year’s team, one source said.Wade has until June 27 to officially decide on his $23.8 million player option to return to the Bulls next season. The Bulls haven’t pressed Wade on his decision out of respect for the process. But the franchise has been preparing for Wade to opt in all along, and most league observers believe Wade will return."

The Bulls appear primed to bring back the same team that they had at the beginning of the 2017-2018 NBA season. The expectation is that the Bulls roster will be built around Wade, Jimmy Butler, and Rajon Rondo.
News of the Bulls bringing back the same roster that they had last season is discouraging. Discouraging because the Bulls’ roster, as constructed last season, did not have the capability of competing with the likes of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
With the NBA embracing the idea of the superteam, the Bulls need to make an adjustment. The Bulls need to bring in another superstar to pair with Wade and Butler. Wade is a popular player among NBA circles and that could play an important factor this off-season. With Carmelo Anthony expected to be available on the trade market and Blake Griffin expected to hit free agency, Wade could be a pivotal piece to the Bulls’ recruiting efforts this summer.
