Chicago Bears second-year cornerback Tyrique Stevenson has been getting hammered on social media for his role in last Sunday’s shocking loss to the Washington Commanders.
With two seconds left in the game, the Commanders defeated the Bears on a successful Hail Mary attempt as rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels found veteran Noah Brown for a 52-yard touchdown.
Stevenson was supposed to follow Brown on that final play but was seen on video taunting fans as the play was developing. As you can imagine, Bears fans weren’t happy and his teammates weren’t pleased about what happened.
But to his credit, the young cornerback reportedly apologized to his teammates on Monday, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

But shockingly that wasn’t the only time Stevenson went back and forth with Commanders fans. In a video posted on Twitter, the Bears cornerback was seen talking with fans, who said, "29, you ain’t ready baby. You ain’t ready. You ain’t ready."

The Washington fan continued, "Hey, this our house baby. This our house baby." Stevenson responded in jest "Let's bet your mortgage at." The fan said "Let's do it" and shook his hand.
As we saw later in the game, Stevenson wasn’t ready. He did not stay locked in until the clock hit 0:00, costing the Bears a win. Chicago hopes the second-year defensive back will be set to play this week against the Arizona Cardinals as the Bears have yet to win a game on the road this season.
