As the Chicago Bears consider potential offseason landing spots for DJ Moore, a surprise favorite may have emerged. Bleacher Report listed the Tennessee Titans as a clear landing spot with Moore being among the team's top trade targets.
This makes a great deal of sense for both sides and would offer young quarterback Cam Ward a much-needed primary receiver, as Calvin Ridley could only do so much in that WR1 role in 2025. With this in mind, Chicago should already be talking to the Titans' front office to see if a potential deal can be worked out in the offseason.
New head coach Robert Saleh and offensive coordinator Brian Daboll badly need to make an instant splash to breathe life into a frustrating offense and an even more frustrated fan base. There isn't a name among the team's playmakers who stands out as a No. 1 option, and adding Moore changes this overnight. Furthering the connection between the two sides are general managers who have extensive experience working together.
Ryan Poles joined the Kansas City Chiefs in 2009, working his way up the ranks alongside new Titans' GM Mike Borgonzi. Both were hired in 2009 and would work together until the end of the 2021 season, when Poles would leave to take Chicago's open GM position. The familiarity between the two decision-makers clearly works in the Bears' favor, opening the door for a potential deal.
Bears Have Perfect Landing Spot for DJ Moore After Titans' Latest Hires
According to Over The Cap, the Titans have all the salary space in the world with a projected $104.7 million available. Add in the fact that Tennessee isn't the most appealing landing spot for free agents, and it makes sense to utilize a large piece of this space to bring in Moore. If the Bears trade the receiver after June 1, it will free up $24.5 million in cap space while only counting as a $4 million dead cap hit for the 2026 season.
This makes it all the clearer that a trade should be something Poles and the Bears are actively pursuing. Not only is there the open cap space and the positional need, but the franchise is expected to move on from veteran receiver Calvin Ridley, who is coming off an underwhelming season. It makes sense to turn the page on one veteran while bringing in a far better replacement to excite the fan base.
No question, it is in both sides' best interests to discuss the move, and this should excite Chicago fans who are ready to get to the next chapter with an exciting young offense. Moore had solid production in years past, but no longer fits the direction of Chicago, and would give Titans fans the exact blockbuster move the franchise needs.
