There is no denying that it has been an adjustment for Chicago Bears fans to once again be a part of the national discourse. Despite being a historic franchise, prior to last season, much of the team's development and storylines were covered sparingly due to the fact that the franchise wasn't seen as a meaningful contender in the NFC playoff picture. Something that has obviously changed as the franchise is once again at the top of discussions in the conference, with positional rankings hotly debated for a number of Chicago players.
With this in mind, it is a slight concern that so much noise is being built up around key players. The league's best have the ability to ignore or harness this, but there is no denying it is a slight concern. Leading us to look at a trio of Bears garnering the most attention, who fans hope are able to weaponize or ignore the growing attention.
1. Caleb Williams
The Bears have one of the league's most popular quarterbacks when it comes to offseason rankings that are going to grab attention. Whether it is putting Williams inside the top-ten or dunking on the signal-caller for his completion percentage, there has been no shortage of opinions that started in the offseason and have continued into training camp. While this could be a concern for some quarterbacks, fans currently have no reason to worry about the quarterback.
Williams has faced scrutiny and a high level of attention his entire career, dating back to his first years in college. This isn't new for the third-year leader, and there are signs that not only will it not shake Williams, but it serves as a clear source of motivation.
2. Luther Burden
Burden had 652 yards in his rookie season and a pair of touchdowns, sharing targets with Rome Odunze and DJ Moore. The departure of Moore and the continued progression of the receiver have left lofty expectations that have brought about comparisons to Amon-Ra St. Brown and the growing belief that Burden is going to be the team's star receiver and most consistently featured weapon.
The pass catcher had five drops a season ago and wasn't the most consistent performer despite the obvious talent. We are yet to see how Burden deals with pressure after spending last season expected to be the third option at his own position. Expectations should remain high, but the growing expectations are a factor Burden must prove he can deal with.
3. Colston Loveland
Williams has already shared that he believes the quarterback has the ability to be the league's best at the position. It is hard to argue with this opinion when you consider how strong the tight end came on at the end of the 2025 season. When Williams needed late game magic, it felt that Loveland was his first target, trusting the rookie at a level that is rare to see for a tight end this young.
There aren't any signs that Loveland isn't capable of living up to the pressure as one of the league's elite pass-catching talents. Still, much like Burden, fans are going to need to see the production happen to be able to prove an understandable belief.
