Now that the Chicago Bears have played their first preseason game, it is a good time to take a look at what the 53-man roster might look like entering Week 2 of the preseason.

Caleb Williams, Tyson Bagent, Case Keenum
These three are set with their spots. Miller Moss could not push Keenum.
Running back (3)
D’Andre Swift, Kyle Monangai, Salvon Ahmed
Ahmed takes the third running back spot after his big catch and run. That was on top of a strong training camp.
Wide Receiver (6)
Rome Odunze, Luther Burden, Kalif Raymond, Zavion Thomas, Kaden Davis, Jahdae Walker
Kaden Davis also propelled a strong camp into a big play in the preseason. That gets him on the roster.
Tight End (3)
Colston Loveland, Cole Kmet, Sam Roush
They have no need for a fourth tight end.
Offensive Tackles (5)
Braxton Jones, Kiran Amegadjie, Ozzy Trapilo, Darnell Wright, Theo Benedet
With Trapilo activated from the PUP, the team will have to cut one of the left tackles in the competition. For now, Wills appears to be the odd man out.
Interior Offensive Line (5)
Garrett Bradbury, Joe Thuney, Jonah Jackson, Luke Newman, Logan Jones
The Bears could keep one of Jordan McFadden or Caden Barnett over a fifth tackle. However, Luke Newman has experience at both guard spots, which makes the need less substantial.
Edge Rusher (4)
Montez Sweat, Austin Booker, Dayo Odeyingbo, Jamree Kromah
Shemar Turner on PUP**
Turner does not appear ready to return anytime soon. Kromah jumps Daniel Hardy after his massive preseason performance.
Interior Defensive Line (6)
Gervon Dexter, Grady Jarrett, Neville Galimore, Kentavius Street, Jordan van den Berg, James Lynch
James Lynch can take the Turner role of being a big defensive end who also slides inside to tackle. That, and van den Berg being a rookie without high expectations, is why six defensive linemen can make it.
Linebacker (5)
TJ Edwards, Devin Bush, D’Marco Jackson, Ruben Hyypolite, Jack Sanborn
Keyshaun Elliott, Noah Sewell on PUP**
The injury status of Elliott and Sewell makes it easy to decipher the room. The question is what happens when they get healthy.
Cornerback (7)
Jaylon Johnson, Tyrique Stevenson, Cam Lewis, Terell Smith, Josh Blackwell, Malik Muhammad, Jaylon Jones
Kyler Gordon on PUP**
Blackwell makes it due to special teams and safety flexibility.
Safety (3)
Dillon Thieneman, Xavier Woods, Anthony Johnson
Elijah Hicks on PUP**
Coby Bryant on IR**
Johnson makes it as a third safety who can play special teams. The value of Blackwell is essentially a fourth safety.
Specialists (3)
Tory Taylor, Cairo Santos, Luke Elkin
These three are locked in.
