The Chicago Bears season took a bleak turn in Week 10 when they dropped their third straight game. This was the most embarrassing one of them all as the Bears' offense only scored three points against the 2-7 Patriots.

Naturally, the blame game has started since. The fans are furious with head coach Matt Eberflus and the coaching staff. They hinted at a few changes including a change in play calling but what those will look like remains to be seen.

In the meantime, ESPN's Adam Schefter dropped a bombshell on Monday. In his appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, the NFL insider said that everything is on the table in Chicago, including benching Caleb Williams in favor of Tyson Bagent. Schefter didn't necessarily say that it was likely but it was among things "being discussed in the building today".

NFL News: Bears Considering Benching Caleb Williams

This is shocking to hear for a variety of reasons. First of all, how does something like this leak? It is a sign of a dysfunctional coaching staff and locker room that internal discussions about a massive decision are being leaked to the media.

Secondly, is this really all it took for the franchise to lose faith in Caleb Williams? He hasn't been amazing to start the season, but it has only been nine games. Does the organization really think Bagent gives them a better chance to win in the present or the future? If they do, then there are much bigger problems with this team.

In his press conference, head coach Matt Eberflus unsurprisingly denied this report. Saying that they are not making a change at quarterback, Eberflus added, "Caleb is our starter", per ESPN's Courtney Cronin.

That is obviously what Eberflus was going to say regardless but let's hope that he is telling the truth and that they aren't considering doing something so ridiculous.
