Two Perfect Trade Targets Emerge for Bears Right Before Regular Season

The Chicago Bears should look at adding either one of these guys if the price is right.

There aren't many other teams who have had a better offseason than the Chicago Bears. General manager Ryan Poles was on his A game as the Bears have completely reshaped this team.

Over the past couple of months, the Bears added guys like Keenan Allen, D'Andre Swift, Kevin Byard, Caleb Williams, and Rome Odunze to name a few.

They are poised to take a jump this season but two more trade options have emerged with the regular season quickly approaching.

NFL News: Matthew Judon and Hasson Reddick May Be on the Move

On Monday, Jordan Schultz reported that Haason Reddick has requested a trade from the New York Jets.

Meanwhile, teams have inquired about New England EDGE Matthew Judon after the two sides failed to reach a long-term deal according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Both situations have been messy throughout camp. Reddick has been holding out in an effort to get an extension. As for Judon, he's made it clear he wants to cash in but they are still far apart on contract talks.

The Bears have openly expressed their desire to improve at EDGE and this is the perfect chance to snag one of these guys.

In 2023, Chicago was ranked 31st in team sacks (30).

The Jets have already come out to say they aren't going to trade Reddick but things change quickly in the NFL.

Both players are in the final year of their deals but they are effective pass rushers. Reddick is fourth in the NFL in sacks (50.5) since the 2020 season.

As for Judon, he's compiled 32 sacks over the past three years in New England.

The potential addition of one of these guys would go a long way in terms of improving the Bears' playoff chances. As the season goes on, having a forceful pass rush helps you close out games.

The Bears only have Montez Sweat as a dominant threat coming off the EDGE with rookie Austin Booker already showing flashes in the preseason.

But that may not be enough so adding a Pro Bowl-caliber guy is something Poles should consider. He already did a superb job improving the team but adding either Judon or Reddick would be the cherry on top of a fantastic offseason.
