After weeks of training camp and preseason, the Chicago Bears will kick off the 2024 NFL season at home against the Tennessee Titans.

There’s a lot of optimism surrounding the Bears who had an exciting offseason, where they drafted Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze. In addition, they traded for veteran Keenan Allen. Speaking of Allen, the veteran wide receiver was one of the six players listed on the team’s injury report on Wednesday ahead of Sunday’s game.

According to Brad Biggs of The Athletic, Allen was limited with a heel injury, while star defensive end Montez Sweat was also given the limited tag with a toe injury.

While it's notable to see Allen and Sweat on the injury report for Week 1, Bears fans shouldn’t fret until Thursday’s injury report is released. If Allen or Sweat are downgraded from limited or given a doubtful tag on Friday, then Chicago could be in trouble.

The Bears enter Sunday’s contest as four-point home favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook over a sneaky Titans squad. The Titans have a revamped defense that features Ernest Jones and L’Jarius Sneed. Chicago would love to have Allen on the field, who would likely be defended by the former Kansas City Chiefs star cornerback.

Meanwhile, Sweat’s presence on the Bears’ defensive line is needed after what he did last year after being acquired from the Washington Commanders. In nine games last season, the former first-round pick had 25 combined tackles, 14 quarterback hits, six sacks, three pass deflections, and a forced fumble.

The Titans’ offensive line wasn’t the best last year as they gave up 64 sacks, so best believe the Bears want Sweat screaming off the edge.
