Many fans were shocked last Thursday when the Chicago Bulls traded two-time All-Defensive guard Alex Caruso to the Oklahoma City Thunder in a simple player swap for Josh Giddey. This trade has received its well-deserved negative backlash because of the lack of compensation for Caruso. However, moving on from Caruso suggests that the Bulls organization could be looking to enter a full rebuild.

If a full rebuild is the direction the Bulls are heading, they would likely also move on from Zach LaVine. Although LaVine can still produce at a high level when healthy, maximizing the value they can receive for him right now is essential for a successful start to the next chapter in Chicago.

Greg Swartz from Bleacher Report considers the Golden State Warriors a potential landing spot for LaVine due to the uncertainty surrounding Klay Thompson's future. The belief LaVine would provide a boost to the Warriors might give the impression Swartz thinks they might have to give the Bulls a lot for LaVine.

However, it is quite the opposite, as Swartz thinks the Bulls would be happy just moving on from LaVine's contract and not receiving any draft picks or young players from the Warriors. Instead, they get back Andrew Wiggins, Gary Payton II and Kevon Looney in this hypothetical.

That proposal from Swartz is absolute nonsense. Why would the Bulls willingly give up one of their best players for nothing to aid their rebuild? Although many believe the Bulls could have received more for Caruso, no one thinks Chicago would be stupid enough to receive no compensation for their future in a trade for LaVine.

While Golden State may be a realistic landing spot for LaVine if he were to be traded, the Bulls should prioritize acquiring future draft picks or a young player from the Warriors. If they can't negotiate such a deal, they should explore other potential trade partners.
