From players being out of sync to bad play calling, the Chicago Bears offense has not been great in the first three weeks of the season.

While there are many plays that fans can point to demonstrate these issues, one play in particular angered everyone last Sunday. Offensive coordinator Shane Waldron called a speed option on the fourth-and-goal from the one-yard line.

Although the Bears have had trouble running between the tackles the first three weeks, it's still the best call on fourth and goal from the one-yard line. Running a speed option or any play in space means there's more room for error.

On the flip side to that, the defense has more ground to cover and the offensive player should be able to use his speed to make a play. That's never how things work for the Bears, though, which is why the play was doomed from the start.

Head coach Matt Eberflus did comment on the play in his post-game press conference, saying they liked the play and they just need to execute better. He added that the design of the play was to go against that personnel group.

Bears players saw that play differently. Center Coleman Shelton said, "Speed option, you know, obviously wasn't the greatest look to run that."

Eberflus not being able to admit that running the speed option was a bad idea is concerning since he could have bailed the Bears out by using a time-out. Yet, the more alarming fact is Waldron even called the play in the first place.

On Thursday, coordinators spoke to the media, meaning Waldron finally addressed the play call. According to ESPN's Courtney Cronin, Waldron said, "I got to be better in that situation, and I will moving forward."

Waldron's response to calling the speed option can literally be applied to everything he's done so far this season. That is frightening, especially when taking into account what some Seahawks players have implied and fans have said about their former playcaller.

Hopefully, Waldron stays true to his word getting better because if he doesn't, the calls for him to be fired will get louder.
