The Chicago Bears have been able to transform their roster over the last couple of months. General manager Ryan Poles did an exceptional job collecting talent, which included trading for Keenan Allen and signing D'Andre Swift in free agency.

They continued to add difference makers in the NFL Draft with Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze as their two first-round picks.

Now the Bears have a WR trio that features Allen, Odunze, and D.J. Moore, forming on paper, one of the best WR groups in the league.

Odunze has already set rookie goals for himself and this one is definitely an eye-opener.

Bears News: Rome Odunze Wants To Break Puka Nacua's Rookie Record

Even though Odunze has yet to play a single snap in the NFL, he has high hopes.

"I went to school with Puka Nacua. I'm absolutely chasing that [rookie record]."

Rome Odunze

Odunze and Puka Nacua were teammates at the University of Washington in 2020. Nacua ended up transferring to BYU before taking over the NFL last year as a rookie.

In 2023 with the Los Angeles Rams, Nacua broke the NFL rookie records in both receptions (105) and receiving yards (1,486). He reeled in 100-plus yards in seven outings during the regular season and was a consistent difference-maker.

Odunze is one of the most talented rookie receivers in this draft class. He has a knack for bringing down those contested catches and runs crisp routes.

In his college career at Washington, he racked up 214 receptions for 3,272 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns, including a career-high 1,640 receiving yards in 2023.

It may be tough for Odunze to break Nacua's record due to him being in a potent offense. Allen and Moore are certified ballers and will need their fair share of targets.

That mixed in with Williams being a rookie, it may be tough for him to eclipse 1,486 yards but his high hopes are exactly what you would want to see as a Bears fan.
