3. Justin Fields, QB - 2021

1st Round, 11th Overall

Calling Justin Fields one of the worst picks over the last decade for the Bears is certainly controversial. While Fields did have his ups and downs he brought the city of Chicago hope when he was drafted because of his talent. Sadly, his talent didn't amount to much success for the Bears.

While a lot of blame can be placed on the coaching staff for how they handled Fields, he also shoulders some of the blame. After all, coaching isn't 100% liable for the team's poor play execution or Fields' poor decision-making at times. In the fourth quarter alone, Fields turned the ball over a total of 17 times (14 interceptions and three fumbles) in three seasons with the Bears. Being that careless with the ball cost the Bears a few winnable fourth-quarter games.

Even though Fields had struggles turning the ball over he was still an electrifying player to watch. Whether it was an impressive run or a magnificent deep pass, Fields had the ability to get fans excited. However, consistency is key in the NFL and Fields didn't play at a high level weekly. That is what ultimately led the Bears to move on from Fields during the 2024 offseason.
