The Chicago Bears enter the 2024 season with a clearly improved team. They finished last campaign with a 7-10 record but general manager Ryan Poles did an exceptional job adding talent to the squad.

Now training camp is underway around the league and the Bears started on July 20. These practices are key because it's all about honing in on your skills.

There are a lot of new moving parts in Chicago but one key defender had to be sidelined early in training camp.

Bears News: Kyler Gordon Sidelined From Practice

According to Chris Emma, cornerback Kyler Gordon was sidelined from Thursday's practice with tightness. Although the injury is undisclosed, this isn't the best start to training camp.

Gordon was hurt in Tuesday's practice so they could just be precautious. The 24-year-old was the second-round pick of the 2022 NFL Draft and the first pick of the Ryan Poles regime.

The Washington product is going to line up in the slot so his absence is taking away valuable reps.

But also his absence creates more opportunities for guys like Terell Smith, Josh Blackwell, Greg Stroman Jr., and Jaylon Jones.

Training camp is a grueling process but this is the time that prepares you for the upcoming season.

Gordon is looking to take a step forward in 2024 after two solid seasons thus far. In his career, he's finished with 132 total tackles, 12 pass deflections, and five interceptions.

His injury is a setback but the best part is it's only July. He has a few weeks to get healthy before the season rolls around in September.
