Chicago Bears fans received some sad news on Monday as running back Ryan Nall announced his retirement from football on social media. Nall was signed by the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon State in 2018.

Bears News: Ryan Nall Announces Retirement

The 6-foot-2, 239 lb. running back didn’t see any action in the 2018 regular season with Chicago as he was signed to the practice squad and released.

However, the team signed Nall to a reserve/futures contract after the 2018 season came to an end. In 2019, Nall played in eight games with the Bears, with the majority of his snaps coming on special teams.

Nall scored his first NFL touchdown in 2020 against the Tennessee Titans, producing four receptions (four targets) for 35 yards. The former Oregon State running back played in 16 games during that season.

After that, Nall played in nine games in 2021 with Chicago to end his tenure with the Bears. The former Oregon State RB signed with the Dallas Cowboys in 2022 but didn’t see much playing time as he was placed on injured reserve that summer.

Nall wasn’t the most talented running back but Bears fans appreciated what he brought to the table every time he got an opportunity to play, whether it was in the preseason or regular season.
