DJ Moore Celebrated Bears Extension in Hilarious Way
By Cem Yolbulan
With savvy moves over the last few years, the Chicago Bears managed to build their deepest and most talented wide receiver corps in recent years. Led by DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, and Rome Odunze, the Bears will have a three-headed monster as the primary playmakers to help Caleb Williams in his rookie season.
Bears GM Ryan Poles demonstrated how thrilled he is with this group when he went out and gave DJ Moore a four-year, $110 million contract extension earlier this week. This was the largest deal in franchise history. However, the 27-year-old receiver celebrated this massive deal in the most humble way imaginable. According to ESPN reporter Courtney Cronin, the former Panthers star ate an eight-piece family meal from Popeyes after he received the extension.
Bears News: DJ Moore Celebrated Contract Extension in the Best Way Possible
Moore was a first-round pick by the Carolina Panthers back in the 2018 NFL Draft. After 364 catches, 5201 yards, and 21 touchdowns in five years in Carolina, Moore was traded to the Bears last offseason as part of the deal that brought the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft to Chicago.
Last season, Moore had the best season of his career, playing every game and finishing with 96 receptions for 1,364 yards and 8 touchdowns, all career-highs.
Now, Moore may find it difficult to replicate these numbers because of the increasing number of mouths to feed in the offense. Cole Kmet and D'Andre Swift will also play a large role in the offense, as well as Allen and Odunze. However, until proven otherwise, DJ Moore will be Caleb William's favorite target to start the season.
