The Chicago Bears made a lot of moves this offseason to bolster their offense. Chicago drafted Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze with the Nos. 1 and 9 overall picks, signed D’Andre Swift in free agency, and acquired Keenan Allen from the Los Angeles Chargers.

Bears fans are excited to see what the wide receiver trio of Allen, Odunze, and D.J. Moore can do this season in the Windy City. Moore was excellent in his first season with the Bears in 2023 and was rewarded with a contract extension on Tuesday.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Moore and the Bears agreed on a four-year, $110 million contract extension, which includes $82.6 million guaranteed. Moore’s extension is reportedly the largest deal in Bears franchise history.

Moore is coming off an outstanding 2023 season in the Windy City. The former first-round pick posted career-highs across the board with 96 receptions (136 targets) for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns.

Chicago acquired Moore in the blockbuster trade a month before the 2023 NFL Draft that sent the first overall pick to the Carolina Panthers. Many fans were wondering if Moore would keep up the pace he was on in Carolina with the Bears and he did that with Justin Fields.

Heading into the 2024 season, the Bears didn’t need to give Moore an extension, given he was still under contract for the 2025 season. However, with so many other receivers getting new deals this offseason, it only seemed right that the Bears locked in Moore for the foreseeable future.

That said, the Bears’ front office will now turn their attention to Keenan Allen, who is in the last year of his extension that he signed with the Chargers in 2020. With the Bears having a rookie quarterback, they could decide to keep Allen too, giving them one of the best wide receiver units in the NFL.
