New Bears QB Caleb Williams is wasting no time in winning over Chicago fans and players alike. While he'll soon dazzle fans on the field, the confidence he exudes off of it should thrill Bears fans as well.

Shortly after Chicago drafted Iowa punter Tory Taylor in the fourth round, Williams reached out to his fellow rookie to hilariously let him know the Bears wouldn't be punting much.

In a confident, albeit playful, text message, Chicago's new franchise player assured Taylor the offense would be humming throughout the upcoming season.

This is the exact kind of confidence you want to see from your new signal caller. The Bears successfully revamped their offense this offseason, drafting Rome Odunze at pick No. 9 while adding Illinois native Kiran Amegadjie in the third round to improve the offensive line.

Chicago traded for star WR Keenan Allen previously, giving Chicago one of the league's deadliest pass-catching groups with Odunze, Allen and established-veteran DJ Moore.

With respect to Taylor, Williams might be right that he won't be punting much. Taylor averaged 48.2 yards per punt for the Hawkeyes this year, establishing himself as one of the nation's best. If Chicago does find itself in a punting situation, Taylor is more than capable of flipping field position.

This is shaping up to be one of the best Bears drafts in recent memory. Drafting a punter as early as the fourth round would normally raise eyebrows, but Ryan Poles can do no wrong at this point. Here's hoping Williams' prediction proves correct as the Bears become one of the NFL's most potent offenses in 2024 and beyond.
