Chicago Bears Draft Grade: Rome Odunze the perfect Pairing With Caleb Williams

The Chicago Bears grabbed another blue chip caliber talent at pick number nine. Rome Odunze has all the characteristics of an elite receiver.

What a night it has been for the Chicago Bears. They added arguably the best quarterback in the draft with Caleb Williams. To top it all off they added a stud at the wide receiver position. Rome Odunze was selected with the ninth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Bears are getting an elite wide receiver that can contribute on offense right away. Adding Odunze into the mix of D.J. Moore and Keenan Allen will help ease the mind of new quarterback Caleb Williams. Odunze has all the tools necessary to be an elite receiver for many years to come. A phenomenal route runner, who is excellent at reading plays and is elite when it comes to playing in man coverage.

It’s an exciting time to be a Bears fan. The Bears have made significant improvements. Adding Odunze will create a lot of wonderful opportunities on offense that were in desperate need of playmakers. Odunze, Allen, Moore, Kmet, Everett, and Swift. All phenomenal options for Caleb Williams.

Draft Grade: A+

This selection by General Manager Ryan Poles deserves an A+. The Chicago. Bears filled a need by adding the best available player in the draft. The board fell the way it needed to go. Four quarterbacks went ahead of the Bears at nine and they were lucky the board fell their way. The receiver class led by Marvin Harrison Jr. is a deep class.

Many have said that if it was a previous year, then Odunze would have been the top receiver taken in the draft. The Bears played the waiting game and ended up with another solid selection to round out the first round. He fits all the boxes Ryan Poles looks for in his draft picks. A freak athlete, who is a phenomenal person on and off the field. The Bears got a great selection in Odunze. Expect him to help the Bears and contribute to their success for the next decade.
