Bears Star Defender Has Excellent Advice for Caleb Williams
The Chicago Bears will be on the clock on April 25th in Detroit when the NFL Draft kicks off at 8 p.m. ET. The Bears own the first overall pick and are widely expected to select USC's Caleb Williams to make him the next franchise signal caller.
The Bears shipped out Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers after three years with the club. Many draft experts have called Williams a generational talent but it's a lot of pressure to come in as the No. 1 pick.
That's why defensive end Montez Sweat is already giving Williams some advice on how to be a leader before he even steps into the building.
Sweat was a guest on Chris Long's "Green Light" podcast and he talked about what Williams needs to do in the league. He said, "Be yourself. Don't try to do it all tonight and just stay humble. Don't try to do it all by yourself. You have a great group of guys around you. Keenan Allen, Swift from Philly. We got some guys around him."
Bears News: Montez Sweat Already Giving Caleb Williams Advice
Williams' play on the field speaks for itself. He is an exceptional passer who has a knack for extending plays with ease. The Washington D.C. native can throw from many different arm angles and will make some eye-popping throws but when you get to the NFL, it's more than just talent.
You have to be able to galvanize a room and get a group of men to believe in you. That's tough for anyone, especially a 22-year-old.
Sweat and Williams will have plenty of time to chat but the 2023 Pro-Bowler is already giving out free game to the former USC product.
