Bears’ Plan for Caleb Williams vs. Bills Possibly Leaked
The Chicago Bears have been at the forefront of the NFL world since the 2023 season ended. That comes when you have the No. 1 overall pick and select Caleb Williams.
The excitement is through the roof in the Windy City as they finally have a young stud under center. The team around Williams has significantly improved and the fanbase is itching to see these guys take the field.
The wait to see No. 18 on the field will be over soon after the latest report.
Bears News: Caleb Williams Will Reportedly Play Against the Buffalo Bills
According to Ben Devine, Williams is expected to play about a quarter in the preseason game against the Buffalo Bills on Aug. 10.
We know the live bullets don't start until Sept. 8 against the Tennessee Titans but getting reps in preseason is smart.
The USC product said preseason reps are 'paramount' ahead of the Hall of Fame but the coaching staff decided not to play any starters in the contest.
Practicing against that talented defense in Chicago will certainly help Williams but getting in-game reps against a different team will only help his development.
One thing that can alter Chicago's preseason plans for Williams is the health of the offensive line. Right tackle Darnell Wright, left guard Teven Jenkins, and right guard Nate Davis have all missed practice lately with some injuries.
Missing three out of your five starters upfront isn't ideal when you want to put your franchise quarterback on the field.
That will be something to monitor throughout the week but the plan is for Williams to make his debut.
