The Chicago Bears had one of the best off-seasons in the NFL. They finished the 2023 season with a 7-10 record and failed to make the playoffs for the third straight season.

That led to general manager Ryan Poles being ultra-aggressive to improve the team. They made moves in free agency and the NFL Draft but the biggest acquisition was quarterback Caleb Williams.

Willams was the consensus No. 1 signal caller in this draft class and many people believe he has all the tools needed to be a superstar in the NFL.

We all know that can take some time though and Poles laid out what he wants Williams to do this fall.

Bears News: Ryan Poles Reveals What He Wants From Caleb Williams

In an article written by Mike Pendleton of Bears Wire, Poles discussed that he doesn't want Williams to try to do everything himself.

Poles did a great job surrounding Williams with playmakers on offense and wants him to use them as much as he can.

"I want him to lean on the talent around him. Then when the time is right, and that's an instinctual thing, and that's when you do the special and balancing that. Sometimes it's going to get out of whack one way or the other but always come back to that, that neutral place is where he's at his best. I think he has that just from studying him and watching years of tape on him. I think that's the big thing is just lean on the guys around him, be instinctual, let those 'wow' plays happen at the right time, we saw it a bit in the preseason, it's going to be important."

As Poles stated, Williams has all the talent to be a dynamic signal-caller. He can make any throw on the field with the athleticism to extend plays with his legs. But he has to remember this isn't college football anymore. This is the NFL and he needs to use the guys around you.

Chicago did an exceptional job adding playmakers around him like Keenan Allen, Rome Odunze, DJ Moore, D'Andre Swift, and Gerald Everett.

Now it's up to Williams to use these guys to make his job easier. It will benefit his growth and Chicago's results in 2024.
