The Chicago Bears are getting ready for their crucial Week 3 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Bears fans are desperately hoping for the offense to finally find some chemistry and for Caleb Williams to get his first touchdown of the season.

Unfortunately, one of Williams' top targets will miss a second consecutive game. Keenan Allen was ruled out with a heel injury, opening the door for the likes of Rome Odunze and DJ Moore to increase their workload. Another player who will get a chance to shine is Collin Johnson.

The team announced on Saturday that Johnson was elevated to the active roster along with defensive tackle Byron Cowart. Running back Travis Homer was placed on the Injured Reserve list with a finger injury as a corresponding move.

This is the second time the Bears elevated Johnson to the active roster this season. Last week in his season debut against the Texans, he played seven snaps (six on special teams) and didn't accrue stats.

The 26-year-old receiver has been with the Bears since October 2023 and appeared in three games last season. Most notably, he was the star of the Hall of Fame Game in August when he caught two touchdown passes in the win against the Texans. He missed the rest of the preseason with an injury but the 6-foot-6 pass-catcher is now back and looking for his opportunity to show what he can do.

Chicago will also have DeAndre Carter, Tyler Scott, and Velus Jones Jr. available on Sunday with Jones unlikely to get too many snaps, especially as a receiver. Johnson could perhaps see an increased role while the Bears are still trying to find their footing on the offensive side of the ball.
