2. Bears trade down from No. 9 and receive four picks from the Denver Broncos

In this scenario, the Bears would be moving down to pick 12 and getting a 3rd round ( No. 76), 5th round (No. 147), and 6th round (No. 203) pick in this draft. Trading down to 12 would mean the top three wide receivers are off the board at No.9, which means the Bears would pivot to adding a defensive end or an offensive lineman with this pick.

Drafting one of the top prospects at either of those positions isn't out of the question since the teams selecting at No. 10 (Jets) and No. 11 (Vikings) won't both be taking offensive or defensive linemen.

That means players like Florida State defensive end Jared Verse, UCLA's defensive end Laiatu Latu, Washington offensive line Troy Fautanu, and Oregon State offensive lineman Taliese Fuaga would still be available. Any of these prospects would immediately help the Bears' success.

The three extra selections the Bears acquire from this trade with the Broncos would allow them the flexibility to move back into the second round and draft another potential impact player or stay put and add more depth to the team. If this offer came through on draft night, there is no way that Ryan Poles would pass it up.
