The Chicago Bears have an early start to training camp as they're set to report on Friday, July 19. Once there, the team will work to incorporate several new faces including two top-10 picks in quarterback Caleb Williams and wide receiver Rome Odunze. They also picked up Keenan Allen in a trade with the Los Angeles Chargers to round out their receiving corps and signed running back D'Andre Swift in free agency.

With all those additions, the Bears believe they finally have a deep enough roster to contend in the NFC North. That doesn't mean they can't find ways to get even better — or at least create competition to help push some of their younger players.

Here we look at three free agents who Chicago can sign at the beginning of camp to provide that competition.

3. Tracy Walker, Safety

Kevin Byard and Jonathan Owens already signed with the Bears this offseason but their safety corps has questions. While Jaquan Brisker has been a solid player, Byard didn't last long with the Eagles. He was added at the deadline to help improve their pass defense and that never happened.

Perhaps being in Chicago will help him but the Bears should add more to the mix. That's why Tracy Walker makes sense.

A third-round pick out of Louisiana in 2018, Walker spent the past six seasons with the Detroit Lions. He has 398 tackles, four sacks, three interceptions, and 23 pass defenses. Walker has appeared in 79 games with 43 starts,

If nothing else, he would give them a solid rotational player, which they don't truly have outside of Owens.
