The Chicago Bulls are coming off another frustrating season. Against all expectations, the Bulls front office decided to stay the course instead of opting for a rebuild. They chased the eight seed but failed in the Play-In Tournament, leaving them with a ton of questions to answer in the offseason.

The biggest questions are in regard to free agency. DeMar DeRozan and Patrick Williams are both free agents in need of a new contract. Because the Bulls already have Zach LaVine's, Lonzo Ball's, and Nikola Vucevic's disastrous deals on their books, they are severely restricted on what they can do this summer. This means that they don't have any cap space and even if they let Williams and DeRozan walk, they can't create too much more barring a major trade.

However, the Bulls can still add some free agents even if they are an over-the-cap team. Depending on what they do with Williams and DeRozan, they might be able to bring in a few small or mid-level contracts. Here is a short list of free agents that the Bulls should consider this summer.

Derrick Jones Jr.

A return for Derrick Jones Jr. in Chicago would be one of the best moves the Bulls front office can make this offseason. The 27-year-old forward showed that it was a mistake for the Bulls to let him walk in free agency with his performance with the Dallas Mavericks this season.

In the 2023-24 regular season, Jones Jr. averaged career highs in games, minutes, and points per game. He also hit a career-high 34.3% of his threes, becoming a key contributor during Dallas' deep postseason run.

The Bulls need more defensive versatility and bringing back Jones Jr. would provide that.
